Three years on Newgrounds + (semi) RETIREMENT

Posted by Sir-Nuts Sep. 24, 2009 @ 8:49 PM EDT

Yeah, today is my third year on this site. Since I signed up, I have always enjoyed being here. Wasting my nights in here, laughing, having fun... I liked it. I really did.

But, lately, I haven't. It isn't that I don't have time anymore, I could always squeeze a few minutes in here to do whatever. But I'm just not motivated to do this anymore. I don't have that old willingness I used to have back in 2007, 2008, earlier this year... I think I just realised what I was doing here everyday... And that would be nothing.

Yes, nothing. All I did was some meaningless things, like if it was automatic. I wasn't liking it. It was all too fake (!), I could say. Basically, I felt like I was wasting my time in here, while I could be doing much more away from here.

I have quite a lot at hands right now. I have a course every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, that takes my whole afternoon and tires me a lot. This is all for a test that I am going to do by the end of the year, to get in the best college where I live (it's pretty good, Brazil-wide). I won't go much further, but all in all, this takes me a lot of time, and it should be taking more, if I was a dedicated student (a.k.a I-don't-like-studying-but-I-pass-every -year-with-good-grades... somehow). Also, lately I've been thinking about my future, what I'll do in life etc...

All of this leads me to one way; semi-retiring. If it's doing no good right now, why insisting on it?

I'll still try to remember depositing every day (it takes me a minute or so, duh), but I will no longer post, not even lurk anywhere. This could last until the end of the year, maybe for the whole vacation period, maybe forever.... Who knows. What I'm sure of is that I won't be around for now. Maybe I'll miss being here after a while, but I really need this "break".

So, yeah. Bye for now, see you sometime.

+1 good bye news post.

Math class

Posted by Sir-Nuts Sep. 22, 2009 @ 9:04 PM EDT

5 = 5

2 + 3 = 2 + 3

2x + 3x = 2x + 3x

2x - 2x = 3x - 3x

-2(x + x) = -3(x + x)

Lets say that (x + x) is "a"

-2(a) = -3(a)

Thus, -2 = -3

Go for it.

New post

Posted by Sir-Nuts Jul. 10, 2009 @ 3:13 PM EDT

I think I should make another one of these. That other one was old and ugly. =(

Well, now I'm on my school's winter break (south hemisphere, remember). After working the whole week to finish the science/cultural fair project, I'd say it's deserved. I've been needing this for a while.

I'm planning on doing some things during this break. Catch-up on some threads here (yet again =P), organise some things, play my guitar at least one hour per day, watch ''Ice Age 3'' (it looks great!), etc... I'll have three weeks to do all these things, but I wish I had three months, instead. =P

In this meantime (of a post and another), I've done a couple of notable things. The first one was that I went to Porto Alegre for five days, during the ''Corpus Christi'' holiday. It was really fun in there, I love that city. I won't go into details, since you probably wouldn't care, right?

Another notable thing that I did was a test for a discount on a studing course for PAS, which is one of the ways to get in an university in Brazil. I did quite well, being #8 out of ~28 people, meaning that I got a 20% discount on the course. Yay!

Oh, and check out this video. It's amazing how Franz Ferdinand can do amazing videos with low budget:

I can't leave!

Posted by Sir-Nuts Apr. 16, 2009 @ 10:14 AM EDT

I realised that I'm stuck in this place.

I tried to "leave", but I kept coming back all the time. I'm stuck in Newgrounds forever!

Countdown to Iron Maiden Concert!

Posted by Sir-Nuts Mar. 10, 2009 @ 2:44 PM EDT

Iron Maiden is coming to Brazil soon, and they're going to play where I live. And I'm really looking forward to it, considering they've never played here before and... they're Iron Maiden! I still can't believe it, one of the band that I've listened to since I was a kid is actually coming to my town!

They will play here in March 20th, and I'm counting the days until it. I already have the tickets, my cousin bought them the day they started selling. I'm going with him, my brother and my friend. We will stay a little away from the stage, since the "premium" tickets were REALLY expensive. But still, it's not a bad place.

And every day, I'll update this a little bit. =)

March 10th; 10 days left - I'm really anxious for it. I still have to talk with friend, to see if he'll either sleep here or at his home. It would be better if he slept here, in my opinion.

I'm not sure what will they play, exactly. I know it's most of their successes from the 80s, but I need to find the complete set list. To sing-along the whole show, yeah. =)

.

March 11th; 9 days left - My friend said it would be better if he slept here than at his home. I find it better as well, he lives a little bit far from where I live.

.

March 14th; 6 days left - I didn't miss any days, did I? =P

I have yet to get the tickets with my cousin. Also, we aren't going with him anymore, since my other brother is going as well. He lives with us, so it's better. Although my friend won't sleep here anymore, since my brother can bring him to his home...

And I have to find the setlist! Dammit.

School + Guitar Hero = ???

Posted by Sir-Nuts Feb. 15, 2009 @ 8:28 PM EST

So school started a couple of weeks ago (02/02). This is my Freshman year, first year of High School. And it's been great so far! I'm back to my "original" class, where all my best friends are, the teachers are excellent, the subjects aren't too "heavy" (so far at least)... and this means less time around here, of course.

But, last month, my aunt bought the Guitar Hero World Tour kit for me, as a "little" request from me, when she went to the USA. I've been wishing that for a while, but buying it here is a really bad deal. I'm talking about twice the price of the kit in the USA. Anyway... it's really fun playing it. The only problem I've had so far was the drum kit. It ends a pair of batteries quickly. I have to replace them almost everyday, playing about 1 hour a day. Still, it's a lot of fun playing it.

However... I have quite a lot of homework to do everyday. And I play GH everyday. And I do random stuff... what about Newgrounds? Yeah... you know... ehh... I'm not going here that much lately. But I'm actually starting to miss here. I want to start posting frequently again. Heh, I think it's time for catching-up again. This should take a while...

In other news... Iron Maiden concert is getting closer. My friend will join my brother, my cousin and I. Still need to "see" the tickets, my cousin is "hiding" them. =P

Also, Kiss is coming to São Paulo in April. Might go there as well. I mean, come on! The hottest band in the world!
___________

Carnival week is here. You might think: "Hey, everyone walks naked around the street!". I won't deny this completely. At the main parties, shown on TV, some of the girl are almost naked. I mean, this is safe for work during this time of the year, what the hell.
___________

I went to a party a few days ago. It was great, and it was near where I live. I went by bike there, less than 1km from home. The bad part was coming back. It was 3AM, I was tired and it was pretty cold. Meh.

See you around. Catching up somewhere.

Some Music News

Posted by Sir-Nuts Jan. 17, 2009 @ 11:51 PM EST

- Elton John just played a concert here in Brazil. A TV channel showed some parts of the show, and I have to admit, Elton John is THE MAN! (actually... he is the opposite of that, but you know what I meant :P)

He plays very well, drives the crowd wild (even when he's jamming) and has excellent songs. The show was in São Paulo, which is 1,000Km from here. Also, the tickets to his concert were pretty expensive. I believe the cheapest one was about R$200,00. Not including the trip to São Paulo.

Who knows if he comes back to Brazil, but this time, around where I live. ;)

- But who needs Elton John when you have Iron Maiden? Yeah, they're back in Brazil for the second time in their "Somewhere Back In Time" tour. But this time, they're coming to my city! =O

My cousin already bought the tickets. They weren't very expensive, but we are a little away from the stage. Whatever, it's still Iron Maiden!

- And in my previous news post, I mentioned that I got the whole Foo Fighters discography. Well, here's a little picture from it! =)
