February star(t)s!

(Foo Fighters reference =) )

Hey there! I'm finally back home, after over a month spent in the south of Brazil. The beaches there are excellent, I'm really tanned now, for spending so much time under that hot sun. My friend said that I look a little "dark orange", I don't know if that's good or not. =P

Summertime!

Everithing went like this: on December 27th, my dad, my brother and I went on a 2000km car trip to Torres. Pretty tough, but we had done this before. Waking up at 3am, stopping at some random gas stations, traffic jams... Only to arrive at 8pm on a second-hand hotel. The second day or travelling was better. Calmer road, arriving early, good stuff.

The difference in this summer was that we had no house maid or anyone to help us working in there: we had to do everything by ourselves. It could get tiring after a while, but it was necessary. If it got too tiring, the beach was just two blocks away :). The city itself isn't the best of all, there isn't much to do, but I am pretty satisfied with just the beach.

New year's day was fine, my mom arrived the other day and left a week later, so did my dad, my brother and I were alone etc... Fun times. My grandparents arrived a few days later. Then, on the 27th, my brother and I went to Porto Alegre, to do three things: watch our team's football game; the Metallica concert and send me home.

The game was great. We won 5-0. It was the first time that I saw Internacional win a match. I have seen a couple of draws and a loss, but never a victory. What a way to have a first one.

Metallica concert

The Metallica concert was great as well. It had rained a little before the show, and the place turned into a swamp: there was mud everywhere, and very little rocks or places without mud. After a while, we weren't caring anymore. Let's get dirty and have fun, right?

They had an openning band, called Hybria. Sounds a lot like Helloween and Angra. Pretty fun show, but we couldn't wait for Metallica. Hybria started at 8pm, and they waitd about two hours to start playing. But oh, it was worth waiting.

They began with a clip of "The Ecstasy of Gold", playing in the three big screen in there. Very exciting. Then, out of nowhere, they show up, with "Creeping Death". Really... WOW. Just wow. It was freaking Metallica, that I've listened my whole life. Pure awesomeness. The setlist was the following:

Creeping Death
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Ride The Lightning
The Memory Remains
Fade To Black
That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
The Day That Never Comes
Sad But True
Cyanide
One
Master Of Puppets
Battery
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
- - - - - - - -
Die, Die My Darling
Phantom Lord
Seek and Destroy

Getting out of the place was hell on earth, though. It's like there were more people leaving than those who were in the concert. We stood there for about half an hour, plus one hour to find a taxi home. In the end, it was worth it.

Back home... now what?

The day after, I got a plane back home, all alone. I wanted to stay for more time, but I had classes today. Anyway, it was still alright to be back home.

Right now, I'm typing in the new laptop my dad bought. It's a Dell Vostro 1320, with Windows 7. It's stupidly fast. Really, I want to steal it. It's really good. My dad said he will buy a new one to replace our old desktop, which seems to be dying. I want it, playing Team Fortress 2 on our old one kinda sucks. =P

Well, now I'm back with my old routine. School in the morning, guitar classes on Mondays, lazy afternoons... I have some plans, though. I want to catch-up on some threads in here, mainly in the Wi/Ht and the C&C. I could do this every day for a while: get the laptop, put on a CD or a DVD to play, relax, while typing what I need to. This could be productive. =)

Wrapping up: summer's ended (kinda); Metallica is awesome; this laptop is great; routine.
